The Dalit Welfare Organisation (DWO), established in 1994 and registered in the office of
District Administration in Kathmandu on 16 September 1994, is a member-based movement
-oriented non government organisation (NGO) of Dalit activists and is one of the largest Dalit
human rights NGOs in Nepal. DWO is working to eliminate caste based discrimination and
untouchability in Nepal through two principle approaches: through media advocacy and through
its development programme.
